| | Training To Be Soldiers - SAF | ] | #Farewell ... For A Fortnight#
From your humble servant, Chester:
My Dear Colleagues, Friends and Family.
I will be entering the Army this Thursday on 7th September and will not be able to book out for the next two weeks! This timely conincides with the autumn break our club has planned. There will be no training on 9th and 16t September and training only resumes on the 23rd of September
During this period, you all will still be able to contact me at my hp (91911691). Should I be unable to answer your calls, please leave me a message. Alternatively, you can contact the club administrator Jonathan (91076226) for matters concerning the team. The last way out would be to leave a comment here and I can assure you your post would not go unnoticed.
This few months have been terrific for us. Many of us have gradually improved from the weekly trainings and we have began to understand and appreciate one another. Thank you for all your efforts and time spent on the team, let's give ourselves two thumbs up!
I seriously hope the Captain and Vice-Cap will step up and guide the younger members in the team whilst I am doing my National Service. It took us a long way to get together a bunch of lads and I hope this legacy will carry on for life!
Good luck to those who are having their GCE N' , O' Levels. For those who are studying, please continue to study hard! Those in the workforce, I wish you well in your work environment.
May everything go smoothly for the lads of Aroozoo. Ora et Lobora!
Yours truly,
7- Chester Chee
#Match-On#
Andy's uncle has challenged us to a game! Jonathan will be contacting you guys soon regarding the match which would be held soon (I hope). Andy please liase with Jonathan and your Uncle?

#Training Review#
Hi everyone, we have mantained our record of having 12 down for training! Today's attendance was made up by Chester, Dexter, Daryl, Gabriel, Ian, Josh, Jonathan, Kin Meng, Maximus, Nash, Saphari and finally Weiliang.
For the first time, both our goalkeepers had turned up for training! Having competition was good as both keepers tried their very best to defend the goal mouth (probably due to the pushups they had to do should they concede a goal)!
Finally, to sum things up, today's training was injury-free! Yes, no one got swollen ankles or strained muscles. Once again, the club appreciates everyone who turned up for training.
#Give me my Number 8, claims new signing.#
The club has scooped up one of the best players available. Daryl has decided to sign for the club and has been handed the Number 12. jersey. The player initially wanted the numbers 8 and 17 but had to settle for third best.
"I am pretty sure all of you had witnessed Daryl's diligence! He is probably a blessing in disguise now that we've lost our No. 8. We are blessed to have someone who is equally hardworking and way more skillful than Dindson. I think fans in time to come will recognise Daryl as one of the most conscientious players." The manager said.
Josh made it clear to the team that he wanted to keep his number as he finally showed up for training and promised to turn up more often. He even managed to put the ball into the back of the net on several occasions today and earned the praise of some team mates.
However, the owner of the "8" jersey was once again AWOL. The club will consider to pave the way for other players who want that jersey. A few had already requested for that auspicious and prestigious number.
: Join the waiting list for this number? |

#A.F.C.'s star out with injury#
A.F.C.'s star midfielder Jason Ong has been ruled out of training for the next 2 weeks at least. The famous 33 jersey picked up and injury at the training ground during a friendly within the team.
What appeared to be a horrendous injury which looked to threaten the player's career was later played down by a spokesperson for the team. The manager has also reassured fans that their idol would be back to full fitness in no time.
Let us now wish Jason a speedy recovery and we look forward to his fancy footwork once more!

#42, Back in the Game#
Fans of Number 42, your eager wait is finally over! Andy has been declared fit by club physio and the player even joined the squad for a quick training session on Saturday.
: He's the miracle healer
#Signing ...# Aroozoo F.C. is expected to complete the signing of Daryl by then end of the week. The player put in some fine display during the team's training on Saturday which impressed several. Daryl's versatility is said to be on par with Utility-man Jonathan.
Both Daryl and Jonathan can play as a back up in any position and players of such calibre are greatly valued by the team! We look forward to seeing the new Owen Hargreaves and Philip Neville in action this coming Saturday.
: On par with A.F.C.'s Jonathan Tay
: Small Phil is no match for Daryl!

| | accomplished | ] | #Interview with Gabriel Tan! No.31#
On our first ever interview session, the Club has decided to award the honour to Gabriel Tan! The Defender has been praised by club mates for his commitment and enthusiasm in training and Gabriel has also improved on his ball and game skills since the club first began!
Now, let us find out more about the interview with our up and coming left back ... Gabriel Tan!

Position: Left Back
Number: 31
Height: 172cm
Weight: 80kgs
His Boots:
--Hi Gabriel! Here goes the first question of the day. What is your favourite football club?
No favourite club, I play the game but I do not watch the game.
--All right, your favourite player then? I'm sure everyone has someone special that inspires them?
Erm, don’t think so too, sorry to disappoint you. Haha
--Now, being a defender, I am sure there is someone you dread defending! Tell us about that player!
Well he would be Chester, because I can’t defend players that do passing.
--What do you mean by do passing? Everyone passes the ball!
Well that would mean the moment I try to track Chester down, he passes the ball by either crossing it into the box or creating opportunities for someone else. So I do not have the time to get the ball or clear it away. To sum it up, his crosses and low short passes are fast and unpredictable!
-- I see! Next up, who do you think deserves to be player of the month for the club?
I think it would be Jerry from the defenders. Jerry had put in some great defending since joining and clears the ball really well! Definitely a great buy!
--What are you looking to improve on at the moment?
I hope to stay more calm upon receiving the ball. I look forward to making more good passes instead of clearances! Also, I wanna improve my teamwork with the other defenders. Getting the offside trap right basically! --What’s your biggest wish for the club at the moment?
To be able to work together and communicate and also to win every match we play!
--Asian or Angmoh girls? Lol.
Asians! i would prefer asian girls because they are sweeter, cuter, and they are more considerate! Asian’s skin colour is also nicer compared to caucasian!
--Ru Hua or Mo Xiao Ling? Now that's a tough one isn't it?
Neither, I would rather jump and kill myself!
--Boxers or Briefs?
Well boxers definately! It is more comfortable and ya, my jeans can go lower without exposing other *tings*
KFC or McDonald’s: Mc!
Lastly, what do you think of Italy winning the world cup? :)
Quite surprising, I expected the Brazilians or the Germans to emerge victors! Or maybe even the French!
--Thanks a lot for your time Gabby! Will see you around during training! |

#Training Review#
Once again, training was attended by 12 people. The club has been able to maintain this record for 2 consecutive weeks. Good work guys!
Training started off with the usual drill which improves one's first touch. It was then followed up by the defender-attacker practice. I must say that the standard of passing within the attackers had increased significantly from the first week.
The club is happy that its efforts has finally begin to take off! The Midfielders and Strikers are learning more about each other's game as well as style of play. In the past, the attackers have never really threatened the defenders. But that is all history now, at least 5 goals per week are bagged in during the session.
Finally, the session ended with a friendly game amongst the players. Team Green consisted of Chester, Dexter, Gabriel, Jerry, Jonathan and Weiliang. The other party, Team White included stars like Alvin, Ian, Jason, Kin Meng and guest Ben.
Bot sides had put up a good performance for the fans, with Chester and Jerry scoring two goals each for the Greens. Jason struck the only goal for the Whites as they wasted several golden opportunities. The final score ended with a 4-1 victory for the Man in Green.
All-in-all, it was a good 4 hour training with not a single second wasted.
#42: Injury Hit#
The injury crisis in Aroozoo F.C. has not ended for the club. With Titan defender Zhenrong still out with an injured ankle, Andy has now joined him on the list.
After a dianogsis by club doctors, Andy was said to have suffered an injured knee which required a jab or two from the medical experts. He is not expected to make it back into action within a fortnight and the club would like to take this opportunity to wish Andy a speedy recovery! The club said that Andy is needed in the striking department at the moment and the physio has urged him not to damage his knee any further.

#We Are In The Transfer Market Once More#
The Manager has revealed that the club will look set to sign a player named Daryl. Daryl who can play both as a Defender and a Midfielder will be brought in to fill in the gaps left by players who have not shown their faces in training.
Chester said: 'I have worked with Daryl in the past and have found him a suitable candidate for the team. He plays a physical game and focuses on his football! His arrival will be good for the team.'
Once again, the player is expected to sign for the team this coming weekend provided he passes the medical at Maplewood Training Ground.

| Eric Cantona's Word of Advice |
[Aug. 10th, 2006|10:50 am] |
#Manager's Words#
I happened to overhear a comment of one of our players while he was speaking to another. He said that our team was not united at all and that we were not even supportive of one another. Our passing was way-off and there was totally no unity amongst the entire team. In fact, I do think that particular member of the team was looking down on us.
I seriously hope all of you will consider this message I am bringing forth today. My heart sank when I heard about his negative comments. It took us a really long time to reach our current status and this could only be done through continuous effort and commitment.
I hope that after reading today's message, everyone would be more participative in and out of training. One should give more pointers on the discussion board as well as communicate with one another on the pitch. This way, we will improve our mutual understanding as well as standard of play!
Also, I can clearly tell the attitudes of those who cherish this football club. I want to thank Jerry for his enthusiastic participation on the discussion board as well as most of the team who have been present for training! To some of you who have missed a couple of sessions, I know that your hearts do not have a place for the F.C., if that is so, I would urge you to come forward and resign. It affects the morale of the players greatly.
I do not see the reason why the admin staff has to ring and message you on multiple occasions and yet the answer given by you is still an indefinite one. Some of you reply that you are not sure if you are available for training. Why is that so? Shouldn't you be aware of your schedule most of the time? If you are busy, just tell us that you would not be able to render your service to the team. I MUST STRESS THAT I KNOW SOME OF YOU ARE USING SOCCER AS A FALLBACK PLAN! YOU ONLY TURN UP FOR TRAINING IF YOUR FRIENDS ARE NOT FREE THAT AT THAT TIME OF THE DAY!
DO WE WISH TO BE DESPISED UPON ALWAYS? SO MUCH SO THAT THE OPPPONENTS REFUSE TO ACCEPT OUR CHALLENGE OR WE EVEN DOUBT THE QUALITIES OF OUR OWN PLAYERS?
Please reflect on what I've said. I know my words and effort here are probably going down the drain the moment I click 'enter'. But nonetheless, I have never given up hope on you, my team mates, my friends!
